This past weekend, USKC Martial Arts & Wellness held its first intra-school karate tournament under the new leadership of senior black belt instructors, all alumni of the school. The event marked a new chapter as they took over from the school’s founder, Master John Thomas, who retired earlier this year.
The tournament featured students aged 7 to 13 competing in three categories: open hand forms, weapon forms, and sparring. In each event, participants demonstrated their skills, discipline, and sportsmanship. The sparring matches were particularly exciting, showcasing the students’ agility and strategy in a controlled, respectful environment.
Parents, family members, and friends filled the dojo, creating an energetic atmosphere that encouraged the young martial artists. Black belt judges, many of whom had trained under the retired head instructor, provided valuable feedback, fostering growth and improvement.
Gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded to the top performers in each category, though every participant left with newfound experience and confidence.
The success of this tournament reflects a bright future for [School Name] as the new leadership continues the dojo’s rich traditions while embracing fresh ideas for growth.
Congratulations to all the participants and thanks to the families, judges, and instructors who made this event a success!
