Mixed Martial Arts

At USKC Martial Arts & Wellness, we’ve crafted a unique and powerful Mixed Martial Arts program that draws on the best of the Five martial art disciplines:

Hap-Ki-Do:
Incorporates a wide range of techniques, including strikes, blocks, throws, joint locks, and pressure points. The emphasis is on using circular motions and leverage to neutralize an attacker’s force.

Aikido:
Involve throws, joint locks, and immobilizations. Using body weight, leverage, and timing, control an attacker’s movement to redirect their force and neutralize their attack without causing harm.

Aiki-Jujitsu:
Emphasis on grappling and joint locks. Based on the principles of leverage, timing, and control. Techniques include throws, joint locks, chokes, and strikes to neutralize an attacker.

Judo:
Emphasizes throwing, grappling, and ground techniques. Use hip throws, shoulder throws, and arm throws to control opponents. Holds, submissions, and pins to control and subdue them on the ground.

Tae-Kwon-Do:
Places a strong emphasis on discipline, focus, and self-control. Techniques involved kicking, punching and striking with emphasis on power, speed, and precision.

Developed by our founder, Master John  K Thomas, a seasoned martial arts practitioner of the five disciplines and teacher since the 1980s, we’ve fused these traditions to create a system that’s time-tested, effective and empowering for real-life self-defense.

Our program is built on the foundational principles of CONTROL, HONOR, and DISCIPLINE, empowering students to develop the strength, confidence, and psychological resilience to protect themselves and others. We believe that martial arts training goes far beyond self-defense. It’s a journey of personal growth, building confidence, and cultivating a strong sense of self. Our curriculum is designed to empower individuals of all ages – children, teens and adults, fostering both physical and psychological resilience.

Our chief instructors Sensei Murali Mooliyil & Sensei Nathan Keysor have dedicated over three decades to mastering these arts under Master Thomas’s tutelage. Their expertise and passion bring unparalleled expertise to each class, ensuring that every student is guided with care, respect, and precision. Class Groups & Schedule

Class Groups

  • Separate classes for Adults and Kids
  • Each class runs one hour sessions
  • 3 classes per week for each group

Adult : This group include students aged 13 and above

Kids : This group consists of students between the age of 7 to 12

Class Schedules

Classes for the groups are conducted during the week from Monday through Saturday per the schedule below.

Adult Class

13 yrs and above

Monday : 7pm – 8pm
Wednesday : 7pm – 8pm
Saturday : 9:30am – 10:30am

Kids Class

7 to 12 yrs 

Monday : 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Wednesday : 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Friday : 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Training

The program is structured to train students from the ground up and achieve their individual goals – such as physical fitness, self-defense or helping them to combine both mind and body to achieve a better overall health. It focuses on training the body to synchronize fluidity and strength that bring greater speed, agility and concentrated power. Training typically includes the following areas that are defined for each belt levels.

Forms

Enable students to learn striking techniques to generate more power and better accuracy
Learn various open hand and weapons forms at each belt level

Weapons

Learn effective use of traditional weapons – Nunchakus, Jo staff, Sais, and Arnis.

Holds

Focuses on using joint manipulations and pressure points to not only discourage an unwanted grab, but also gives the ability to control the opponent

Breaking

Learn variety of hand strikes, kicks, and punches needed to attain the power and skills to break boards

Sparing

By combining the strategies of the grabs, holds and, ground fighting techniques, students become proficient in a total self-defense situation.

Grappling

Develop all-encompassing knowledge of self-defense while on the ground or in a clinch.
